Shenzhen Airport (Group) Co., Ltd. was established in April 1989 with the approval of the Shenzhen Municipal People鈥檚 Government. It is a wholly state-owned company with limited liability authorized by the Shenzhen Municipal People鈥檚 Government and serves as the management organization of Shenzhen Bao鈥檃n International Airport (鈥淪henzhen Airport鈥?for short). The Group mainly engages in investing, building, and operating the airport (including supporting terminals); supporting air transportation of passengers and cargos; providing comprehensive services and operational management; developing the government-allocated land for the aviation city comprehensively; and investing and operating airport industries. As of June 2023, the Group has total assets of RMB 58.19 billion, with net assets of RMB 40.45 billion.
Shenzhen Airport is located in the 鈥淕olden Inner Bay鈥?of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the core area of the Guangzhou鈥揝henzhen鈥揌ong Kong economic corridor. The area where Shenzhen Airport sits has been incorporated into the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. The Zone serves as an efficient and integrated transportation hub that combines aviation, maritime transport, high-speed highways, high-speed rail, urban rail, and metro services, with ten planned rail lines, five high-speed highways, and a national first-class passenger port terminal. In 2019, Shenzhen Airport received over 50 million passengers and built an 鈥渁ir corridor鈥?connecting five continents with over 60 international destinations for passenger transport, making it one of the busiest airports around the world. In addition, Shenzhen Airport ranked third in passenger and cargo business in China for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022.
Covering a total area of 28.3 square kilometers, Shenzhen Airport boasts top-notch facilities. Its Terminal 3 was put into operation in 2013, with a construction area of about 451,000 square meters. The Satellite Hall, located north of Terminal 3 and connecting with Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 (under construction) through MRT, was opened in December 2021. With a total construction area of about 240,000 square meters, it provides waiting passengers with high-tech facilities and thoughtful services. As a 4F airport, Shenzhen Airport has two long-distance parallel runways to meet the takeoff and landing requirements of all civil aircraft. At present, it has accelerated project construction of the third runway and Terminal 1 to form the infrastructure layout comprising three terminals, three runways, and one satellite hall.
Adhering to the 鈥減eople-centered鈥?development concept, Shenzhen Airport is striving to enhance its service quality. More than 300 brand stores in its terminals have pioneered offering products with no price and quality gaps compared with those in Shenzhen, earning widespread praise from passengers. It has enhanced caring services for passengers in need by launching whole-process services and building flagship nursery rooms. Besides, Shenzhen Airport also takes the lead in launching 鈥渄oor-to-door luggage delivery鈥? 鈥渙ne-click deposit鈥? and other services. With these efforts and achievements, Shenzhen Airport has won the Guangdong Provincial Government Quality Award and the Shenzhen Mayor鈥檚 Quality Award. It is the only airport that has been recognized as an AAA-level service demonstration enterprise with a Certificate of National Market Quality Credit Grade. Meanwhile, it has been recognized as the Skytrax 鈥淔ive-star Airport鈥?for two consecutive years, the World鈥檚 Most Improved Airport for the year 2023, the Best Airport with over 40 Million Passengers by the Airports Council International twice, and the CAPSE Best Airport for seven consecutive years, and topped the list of the World鈥檚 Top Ten Beautiful Airports.
