1. Passing through security check with an electronic boarding pass

As of September 28, 2017, Shenzhen Baoan Airport has been using electronic boarding passes with a QR code for security inspection. Passengers who take domestic flights from Shenzhen Baoan Airport without checked baggage may go through security check with an electronic boarding pass. Passengers may use a valid identification document and their electronic boarding pass for security inspection and check-in. This will ensure a seamless experience from check-in to security check to boarding.

Compared with checking with boarding pass, the electronic boarding pass may save time on printing a boarding pass. For passengers without checked baggage, this will further improve travel efficiency and bring a smooth flying experience.

Passengers who take domestic flights outbound from Shenzhen without checked baggage can use their mobile phones to check in and obtain their electronic boarding pass in advance on Umetrip or the websites of each airlines companies where electronic boarding passes are available. After arriving at the airport, passengers can take their valid identification documents and electronic boarding passes and go directly through the domestic security check. Before boarding, passengers need to show their electronic boarding pass. The airport staff will then scan your electronic boarding pass and print the boarding receipt as your boarding pass. This will be checked by a security guard upon boarding.

Shenzhen Baoan Airport reminds you that the electronic boarding pass check-in service is only available for passengers who is going to take domestic flights departing from Shenzhen without any checked baggage. If passengers had checked baggage/need to board a connecting flight,/under 12 years old/travel with an infant/need special assistance, they are advised to go to the airport counter 2 hours in advance for check-in and bag drop.

(1) Procedure for security check with an electronic boarding pass:

a) Online Check-in

Passengers can use their mobile phones to check in and obtain an electronic boarding pass in advance on Umetrip or the websites of the airlines where electronic boarding passes are available.

b) Security check

Passengers should proceed to the domestic security check area and show their valid identification document and electronic boarding pass. The airport staff will check the passenger information against the security information management system. When the verification is successful, passengers should proceed to the body check and carry-on baggage check area.

c) Scan at boarding gate

When boarding, passengers need to show their electronic boarding pass at the boarding gate. The staff will scan the electronic boarding pass and print a boarding receipt with a safety check mark which will act as your boarding pass.

d) Re-check before boarding

Passengers need to show their boarding receipt to the security guard for re-check at the boarding bridge or boarding ladder.

a) Shenzhen Baoan Airport reminds you that the electronic boarding pass check-in service is only available for passengers who may board on the domestic flights departing from Shenzhen and without checked baggage.If passengers had checked baggage/need to board a connecting flight,/under 12 years old/travel with an infant/need special assistance, they are advised to go to the airport counter 2 hours in advance for check-in and bag drop.

b) Only an electronic boarding pass issued by Shenzhen Baoan Airport airlines, or China TravelSky will be accepted. Any electronic boarding pass issued by third-party platforms will not be acknowledged during security inspection.

2. Differentiated security check

From December 1st, Shenzhen Baoan Airport took the lead in implementing "Differentiated Passenger Security Checks" among domestic airports. This uses big data analysis to classify passengers using a machine at the gate of the security inspection waiting area. Passengers will be informed whether their checked baggage needs to be opened or not . Frequent flyers with high security ratings could use Fast Track, thus saving security check time and improving their travel experience.

(1) Differentiated security check procedures

There are two gates in the domestic security check waiting area of Shenzhen Baoan Airport.

1. The first gate is located at the entrance of the domestic security check waiting area, with a total of 19 sets of machines divided into 5 groups.

a) At the first gate, the machine will read your identification document or passport. Once the information is verified, the passengers are granted permission for boarding and are informed whether their checked baggage needs to be opened or not.

2. The second gate, named "Fast Track", is located in front of channels 19 and 20, with 4 sets of machines in one group.

a) Frequent passengers with a high safety rating could use Fast Track after being verified at the first gate.

b) The passengers are able to quickly pass through the second gate via facial recognition.

(2) Notice:

Passengers with other identification documents or carrying infants may enter through the artificial channel by showing their boarding certificates.

3. Domestic security check channels

The domestic departure hall of Shenzhen Baoan Airport in on the 4th floor and has 38 security check channels. This includes 14 general channels, first class and business class channels, soldier and fire rescue channels, in-town terminal building and emergency channels, ladies鈥?channels, Fast Track (for qualified passengers), staff/crew channels, and courtesy channels (OPO prior).

(1) Channels 1 and 2 in the domestic security inspection area are staff/crew channels.

The staff and crew holding a "Shenzhen Baoan International Airport Control Zone Pass" can use these channels to go through security inspection.

(2) Channels 3, 4, 35, and 36 in the domestic security inspection area are soldier and fire rescue channels as well as first class and business class channels.

Passengers who hold the first class or business class certificates, soldiers, and fire rescue personnel can use these channels to go through security inspection.
Open hours: 05:00-22:30

(3) Channels 5 and 6 in the domestic security inspection area are urban terminal building and emergency channels.

Passengers with a stamped boarding pass in the urban terminal or whose boarding time is close can use these channels to go through security inspection.
Open hours: 5:10-20:00

(4) Channels 17 and 18 in the domestic security inspection area are ladies鈥?channels.

All female passengers may use these channels to go through security inspection. All the inspectors in the channels are female and provide a convenient and considerate experience for female passengers.

(5) Channels 19 and 20 in the domestic security inspection area are express channels (for qualified passengers).

(6) Channels 37 and 38 in the domestic security inspection area are special care channels (OPO prior).

Passengers needing special care such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, those who are sick, and people with disabilities can use these channels to go through the security inspection. These channels are designed to provide a convenient and considerate experience for those who need it.
